Important – Comal River Container Policy

The City of New Braunfels strictly enforces a no disposable container policy on the Comal River. Please prepare before you arrive.

  • No disposable cups, cans, bottles, or single use containers on the river
  • No chip bags, snack wrappers, or single use food packaging on the river
  • All beverages must be pre-poured into reusable containers before entering the river
  • Alcoholic beverages are allowed on the river as long as they are in a reusable container
  • All snacks must be emptied into reusable containers before getting on the river
  • Reusable water bottles, tumblers, hard sided coolers, and reusable cups are permitted
  • Violations can result in fines and removal from the river

Plan ahead – prepare your food and drinks before you arrive. Consider renting a Cooler Tube to keep everything cold on the float!
